Authors: Stefan Frijters, Timm Krueger, Jens Harting
Summary: We focus on two subjects that we’ve encountered in our lattice-Boltzmann simulations of complicated fluids: the sizes of droplets in particle-stabilised emulsions and deformable particles in fluid stream. The frequent consider these seemingly disparate topics is that each signify a possibility for a novel utility of the Hoshen-Kopelman algorithm. This algorithm relies on detecting related clusters on a lattice and labelling the concerned lattice websites such that every one websites which are related share the identical label. The idea of the presence of a lattice makes it a handy algorithm to make use of together with lattice-Boltzmann simulations. In an effort to apply this algorithm on the fly throughout massively parallel simulations, it must be parallelised as effectively. We current our parallel implementation, which is tailor-made to a standard parallelisation scheme for the lattice-Boltzmann technique, and examine it to earlier work. We then briefly focus on some examples of outcomes obtained utilizing this process
